This kit is inspired by the tremolo channel of the Watkins Dominator / Marshall 1974 amplifiers, it is a 2 x EL84 single channel amp with footswitchable tremolo and delivers classic British tones at approx 18w output

18watt amps are one of the most popular amps for DIY builders as they sound great, are fairly easy to build and can be turned up to deliver classic crunch tones at volumes that won't cause a heart attack... may be too loud for your neighbours though!

This amp does not have huge amounts of clean headroom, instead when the volume goes above 3 the EL84s start to saturate into lush bluesy tones, pushed even further the amp overdrives into classic rock tones, singing leads, creamy and full of rich harmonics.

Paired with a Celestion G12M or G12H loaded cabinet, this amp is guaranteed to put a smile right across your face!

Use the options above to select exactly what you want, we recommend using polyester coupling caps, so either the Modulus Yellow Caps or upgrade to Mallory M150 or Sozo Std Mustard Caps.

If you select to include valves we supply JJ Electronic valves with this kit.

You can also select your faceplate colour and knobs, we make faceplate's to order so if you have any special requirements let us know and we will see what we can do to help.

Our transformers are the highest quality and the output transformer is based directly off the original RS transformer, with the same imperial winding pattern and uses high grade, grain orientated laminations, However If you choose not buy our transformers with the kit the chassis will not be drilled for any transformers so you can arrange the layout to suite

We do not supply a step by step build manual for this amp, the layout is simple to follow and it is expected that the builder has some relevant experience.
