We have called this the Golden Tone Monarch as this pre-amp design is the king of guitar pre-amp designs. This kit is inspired by the mid 60 JTM plexi circuit, this amp has a great clean tone and works famously well with pedals but turn up the volume and it gives a good amount of bluesy drive that will get you into Beano territory or possibly allow you to enter the haze when boosted with a classic fuzz.

If you are not familiar with guitar amp designs, this pre-amp design was first used in the Tweed Bassman and Tweed Twin in the 50's an was adopted for the well regarded JTM45 in the 60's. Since then its DNA can be traced in just about every rock amp from the 70's onwards.

The power section has  two EL84 valves, enough power for small venues and the classic plexi front pre amp, the post phase invertor master volume allows you to control how hard the power valves are pushed, to help keep the amp tight and over compressing.

The amp has two inputs, Input 1 is the classic bright input that has an even tone response through the full range of the volume control, Input 2 is a warmer fuller tone that is great for bright guitars or playing slide.

On the 4 input vintage amps players would often link channel 1 and channel 2 with a patch cable, this gave a wider range of sounds with a slight gain loss. On the GTM we have added a LINK switch on the front panel that let the player blend the two volumes together to get a large array of sounds through the Input 1 jack socket with no gain loss

Use the options above to select exactly what you want, we recommend using polyester coupling caps, so either the Modulus Yellow Caps or upgrade to Mallory M150 or Sozo Std Mustard Caps.

If you select to include valves we normally supply JJ Electronic valves with this kit when available.

You can also select your faceplate colour and knobs, we make faceplate's to order so if you have any special requirements let us know and we will see what we can do to help.

Our transformers are made in house using the highest quality materials and the output transformer is based directly off the original RS transformer, with the same imperial winding pattern and uses high grade, grain orientated laminations.

Parts will be picked once the order is received and generally shipped within 3 to 10 working days from receipt of order. We try to keep all parts in stock to satisfy kit orders, however if there are part shortages that will take longer than 2 weeks we will contact you within 3 working days of placing the order, Please contact me for estimated shipping times prior to ordering if concerned.

Cabinets are made to order and shipped separately, dispatch times are typically 4 to 6 weeks for the cabinet.
