Tay Bridge Disaster 30Watt - 4 x EL84 Liverpool Style Kit

For those who are not familiar with Trainwreck amps they are well worth looking up, unfortunately though they were produced in low quantities making their second hand value very high and that is if you can find one available for purchase, probably the closest thing to unobtanium in the modern world!  That's where building your own amp can help bring you closer to the magic that these classic amps offer.

This kit is based on the Liverpool amp, which was an original Ken Fischer Design featuring a high gain pre amp feeding a Cathode Biased EL84 Output stage.

Tone wise the amp is a dirty load of fun, with more gain than a plexi and more compression, Sustain for days blossoming into harmonic feedback that is easily controlled with the volume knob on your guitar or a volume foot pedal. You really have to play one to experience it.

Important: If you do not buy the transformers with the kit the chassis will not be drilled for any transformers so you can arrange the layout to suite

We do not supply a step by step build manual for this amp, the layout is simple to follow and it is expected that the builder has some relevant experience. This is not a kit for beginner builders, you must have an understanding of good lead dress to build this amp.

Please note: If you plan on building a head cab prior to building the chassis kit the height of the chassis and mains transformer is 170mm, please ensure your cab battens are high enough or notched to ensure it does not hit the transformer.
