Wrocket Top Boost 30Watt - 4 x EL84 Head kit

For those who are not familiar with Trainwreck amps they are well worth looking up, unfortunately thought they were produced in low quantities making their second hand value very high and that is if you can find one available for purchase, probably the closest thing to unobtanium in the modern world!  Thats where building your own amp can help bring you closer to the magic that these classic amps offer.

This kit is based on the Rocket amp, which is a 4 x EL84 Top boost single channel amp, that is itself a derivative of the amps used by British Rock and Roll bands in the 60s with a touch more gain.

Tone wise the amp has big clear chimey clean tones that work well for country and rock and roll and turning up the volume control quickly brings out super smooth overdrive that, with no negative feedback, can sustain for days and be easily controlled with the volume knob on your guitar or a volume foot pedal.

Important: If you do not buy the transformers with the kit the chassis will not be drilled for any transformers so you can arrange the layout to suite

We do not supply a step by step build manual for this amp, the layout is simple to follow and it is expected that the builder has some relevant experience.

Please note: If you plan on building a head cab proir to building the chassis kit the height of the chassis and mains transformer is 185mm, please ensure your cab battens are high enough or notched to ensure it does not hit the transformer.
